Description
I took this photo back when I was working on the protection of the mountain caribou in Gaspésie.
We had to observe them on different summits to record their presence and raise awareness among the people who frequented the mountains.
During the ascent of a summit, I noticed some movement at the edge of a forest in front of me.
It was on the slope of a mountain, across a valley that separated us.
It was a group of mountain caribou moving to reach the end of that mountainous plateau.
I was able to capture this scene.
As I write these lines, it is no longer permitted to hike or ski in certain areas. This regulation must be strictly respected to protect this species in their wintering grounds.
